Did anyone else get annoyed at the TV show “Name that tune” when people said they could name the tune in one note? Like, even if you had perfect pitch, that one note is only going to narrow it down to 50 million tunes or so. Just say “zero notes” if you got it from the clue.
I like the format of that show, but the songs seem to be 80% show tunes and big band or pre-‘65 pop standards. A version with only 1965-2000 rock and pop instead would be ideal.
I think the one note bidders narrow it down to 2 or 3 songs from the clue that have different starting notes.

Yeah, if that "one note" is played on a toy piano. But if it's the original record, it will have timbre, duration, a particular instrument, a chord behind it, and other clues.
A lot of us could pick out "A Hard Day's Night" from the opening chord, and nothing else.

Only two groups fitting the second word came to mind, and Knute and Gus weren't Welsh.

Note the Muslim women with babies. My guess is that the episode is about how the white man’s paranoia threatens to crash the plane in much the same way that white paranoia elected Trump who in turn is crashing America into the ground. Pretty good skit. Somebody, I think it was Joe Sobran, once remarked that much of humor is the triumph of the actual over the official. As The Narrative moves into peak hegemony, it’ll be interesting to see how it plays out among the young-and-hip when the only way to be transgressive is to mock it.
And, in it’s kind of a tallest-building-in-Wichita sort of thing, but Cecily Strong is probably the prettiest woman to have been an SNL cast member.

Turns out a dark angel in the form of an African Kween has been having her mutual way with Germania throughout the centuries. Stunning visuals, especially towards the end when knights in armor march from a cathedral and go ham. Talk about Church Militant! Hi-ooooo!
10/10 would watch again.

Shameless exploitation of Holocaust imagery? The same imagery we've seen in, I dunno, like 90% of Hollywood productions since whenever the holocaust became the HOLOCAUST. What's different here? The band is German and hasn't made their politics clear?

SNL hasn’t been funny this century, as far as I can tell…

And, in it's kind of a tallest-building-in-Wichita sort of thing, but Cecily Strong is probably the prettiest woman to have been an SNL cast member.
Replies: @Desiderius, @PiltdownMan, @Anon87
Julia Louis-Dreyfus would like to have a word with you.
From the little I've seen, Keenan Thompson has been one of the most consistently funny cast members on SNL. The more recently hired White dudes tend toward the extremely bland or ultra dorky.
