当Katja Bellini(Katja Riemann)接管MyTV时,希特勒迎来了重要的时刻。

We are supposed to feel chills, but I felt rather angry at the attempt to stigmatize sensible European nationalism and populism by equating it with Hitler. Want borders? You’re no better than Hitler! Want standards? What is this, Nazi Germany? Of course, America was not Nazi Germany before 1965, when we opened our borders; or before the cultural revolutions of the 1960s which declared war against all reigning norms and values.

看看谁回来了 is a highly entertaining film, but it is deeply fake. The premise that Adolf Hitler could return to modern Germany, become a TV star, and then perhaps return to politics is meant as an insult to the German people. But surely there is no shortage of people in Germany who would scramble to engage in sadism and self-righteousness cloaked in the banner of anti-fascism if Hitler returned.

I suspect the truth would be closer to what we have been going through in America over the last few years when a real-life TV star became President. Donald Trump is no Hitler, but a large portion of the US population has gaslighted themselves into thinking Trump is Hitler’s second coming and reacted accordingly. And Trump Derangement Syndrome is the merest shadow of the oy veying that would rend the very fabric of the universe if Hitler actually did come back.

Nevertheless, I highly recommend Oliver Masucci is a compelling Hitler, although they should have given him blue contact lenses. Katja Riemann is simply regal. Indeed, the entire cast is good.

Again, it is hard to determine the film’s actual message. But liberals find it deeply disturbing, and Right-leaning individuals who are supposed to be scared away from National Populism by an association with Hitler might have exactly the opposite reaction. I have never believed that the triumph of National Populism—which is based upon universal, objective reality, not mere historical contingencies—requires the rehabilitation of Hitler, but taking some of the sting out of the 减少希特勒 can’t hurt either. Try showing this film to normies and see how they react.

XNUMXD压花不锈钢板 国会大厦 movement in Germany (which already has hundreds of thousands of members and is steadily growing) actually believes that Hitler will return one day. According to them Hitler is merely sleeping under a mountain, but will return at some point in the future (maybe in January 2033), lead the 国会大厦 to victory over their enemies in a cleansing orgy of violence, restore the 帝国 as a perfect National Socialist community and rule it for a thousand years.
It sounds pretty crazy, but so do many religions.

  4. Another “Springtime for Hitler.”

Someone needs, and works hard, to keep the Hitler meme alive to justify their own crimes against humanity.

  5. @anon

BS. Another fake group created by spooks. As are some established religions.

  6. Smith 说:

I actually highly enjoy this film due to it’s portrayal of Hitler. Powerful, brave but also with a sense of humor.

If the portrayal of this Hitler can be described as accurate, then he’s indeed the smart leader that the West has lost.

It seems Germany still has a lot to fight for.

  9. Observator 说:

American newsman William L. Shirer made the claim that Hitler was a “carpet chewer”. He reported that Hitler literally chewed the carpets in huge temper tantrums during the Czech crisis. He made this claim in “Berlin Diary”, “Rise and Fall of the Third Reich”, and even in his last book, “The Nightmare Years”, published in 1984. He learned nothing in all that time. The German term “Teppichfresser” means somebody who is climbing the walls or going around the bend, or is wearing out the carpets by pacing up and down while dictating. It’s slang, and anybody else would take it as slang. But Shirer repeated it literally for 44 years.

Shirer also virtually single-handedly invented and popularized the idea that the Nazis claimed that the Germans or Teutons were a ‘Master Race’, a lie which is universally believed, although nobody can even tell you what it is supposed to mean, what the term is or means in German, or where it is to be found in National Socialist literature. “Master Race” was Shirer’s deliberate mistranslation of “Herrenvolk”, an extremely rare word used by German leaders a total of perhaps 8 or 9 times. As a stand-alone term, it means “Nation of Men”, a brave, independent people. Even at Nuremberg, they never claimed there was any “Master Race Principle” (except for Chapter 2 of Mein Kampf, which does not use the word Herrenvolk at all). It was used as a blanket accusation alleging racism, military aggressiveness, and so on, things that are not unique to Nazis or Germans at all but are the universal history of humanity.

  10. Even if the spontaneous public interactions are fake and are meant to shame Germans for acting like Hitler (Looks Who’s Back…in Spirit…), the reaction to the book and the movie have turned out to be Archie Bunkeresque. That’s the best part of all this.

  11. Dumbo 说:

I thought of making a sequel, called “Look who’s black”. This would be about Hitler returning as a black man, and everybody including liberals fawning about him and supporting his plans for world domination, sending Jews to camps, invading Poland and getting blonde pussy.

Agree. I enjoyed the thing. Well-produced and well-acted with a lot of dry wit. The anti-nationalist montage at the end was a sour note: A blatant and clumsy piece of propaganda out of joint with the rest of the work.

  14. @Priss Factor

Simon’s death really does mark the end of an era in film criticism. The Cavett interview (starts at 1:22 of the video) is enjoyable; I had not seen it before. Simon is in his mid-40’s here and pulls no punches with fellow guest Erich Segal about the movie Love Story, which had just been released. You have to admire Simon’s absolute unwillingness to ever temporize his views. Cavett alludes to Simon having appeared on his program a couple of times before, and I will have to look for those videos.

I just noticed that there is a second Cavett interview of Simon on that link you provided (starting at 13:00). Includes some exchanges with Mort Stahl. Also worth watching. Simon speaks in a rather deliberate way (he’s not glib), but one gets the sense of a real mind at work in these two appearances on the Cavett program.

I liked this movie a lot mainly because it is a Hitler you have never seen before.
This is a very funny movie. The guy who portrays Hitler is great, he certainly lived up to my scant imaginings of Dolph Returns.
The movie manages to give Dolph some human aspects, he is not this screeching end-of-Bolero guy we have seen ON TV EVERY NIGHT OF OUR LIVES.
In the movie Dolph has a sense of humor(the n-word) and he can be taken aback by the audiences reaction to him. He cared, unlike Stalin and Stalin’s henchmen like (((Genrik Yagoda))) who just forced everyone by constant terror to be good Commies.
Robert Gallately makes this point in his book ‘Backing Hitler’
But anyway the movie is funny and it is a Hitler you have never seen before.
And really….. could you expect anyone to make you take what a movie approving of Hitler’s return in this day and age?

  17. Trump is worse than Hitler! If he is not stopped, the dead will rise and eat our souls!
